Stef’s fierce commitment to revitalising ancient texts through creative reimagining has been heavily influenced over the years by Benjamin Bagby and Sequentia Ensemble for Medieval Music, the undeniable pioneers in this super-niche genre of music making. Thanks to this affinity and mutual understanding, Stef was fortunate to be invited to collaborate with Sequentia, and since March 2019 she has performed as a soloist in Bagby’s programme ‘Words of Power,’ sharing the stage with soprano and harpist Hanna Marti, flautist Norbert Rodenkirchen, as well as Bagby himself. The project developed out of a collaboration between Bagby and the translator and poet Craig Williamson, whose stunning translations of Old English poetry informed and inspired the programme.

In 2021, as lockdown eased, rehearsals began in Paris for Sequentia’s latest programme, a musical performance based on the Roman de Fauvel, directed by Peter Sellars and Ben Bagby, which premieres at the Théâtre du Châtelet in March 2022. In this production, Stef is part of an ensemble of 7 upper voices, alongside Hanna Marti, Elodie Mourot, Esther Labourdette, Tessa Roos, Sarah Richards, and Jasmina Črnčič.
