And Sunday 9th September at 2:30pm...

(Stef Conner – voice & lyres, Barnaby Brown – pipes, voice & lyres)

In this sequence of diverse pairs, each piece inspired by medieval evidence is prefaced by an antique analogue. Playing reproductions of archaeological finds from 2500 BCE to 700 CE, Stef and Barnaby illuminate some extraordinary literary and musical parallels between Mesopotamian, Greek, Roman, and early medieval British cultures. Lyre, voice and pipes combine to bring to life styles of musical performance from the centuries before the Norman Conquest.
