Delphic Paean by Athenaios Athenaiou

The lengthiest and best-preserved surviving ancient Greek song with musical notation, by Athenaios Athenaiou, possibly composed for the Athenian Pythaïdes festival in 137 or 127 BCE. This version was edited, with some melodic reconstruction, by Armand D’Angour. Stef performs with Barnaby Brown, playing an accompaniment of his own composition, on the Louvre Aulos. The concert took place at the MOISA society annual conference, Reading 2018. Video by James Lloyd.
